So I spent like 2 hours on this

Anyways, let me explain:

Methodology: to make this map I watched an unedited playthrough of the game and marked down how long it took to get from one scripted event to the next. I then inserted in the known times/save points the game gives you at certain intervals. I then calculated at what time each event would take place given how long the game takes to actually play, and then put those numbers to correspond with the actual in- game clock. All times marked with a ~ are approximate.

What I found:

The game is actually pretty much in real time, with some exceptions. There are some timeskips. If you’re playing a speedrun, you’re gonna come in at like 3:30, and the game ends roughly at 4 am ish. This means that if you do everything super fast and don’t waste any time, the game timeskips about half an hour here and there. I tried to account for these timeskips where they occur in my map like adding two minutes when Roddy’s song is skipped. Some sections also take a bit longer than the in-game time. For example, the time from Maurice to Virginia to Eugene to Murphy is much longer irl than it is in-universe, meaning no matter who is doing what kill, they are BOOKING IT from victim to victim.

Who did what: so my choices of who did what kill rely on two things: one, proximity to the confirmed kills/scripted events, and two, my own personal headcanons for who did which. I will now put the game’s timeline in order as well as who did what. Please keep in mind anything happening within KFAM like ponty’s calls or the little Peggy q and an after Maurice or Forrest being the rizz king to Sandra are not included.

~11:40 pm: sheriff Matthews is killed (Marie) (I didn’t put an actual time on the map for this because i don’t know if it’s right or not but in my HEAD, Marie started her attack at George’s TOD)

~11:55 pm: whatever the opening cutscene is (Henry)

~12:04 am: Leslie is attacked (Marie)

-Marie recovers from being shot at by the Sherriff and tased by leslie

~12:25 am: Sandra is attacked (Marie) (Sandra’s excact location is unknown but I put her by what is presumably a parking lot by the football field near the river running route.) (Sandra is not seen getting into her car because Marie takes a longer time to actually get into the parking lot due to being injured)

~12:25 am: Henry slashes the fire engine tires and makes his way up to Maurice.

~12:47 am: Maurice reports a break in (Henry)

-Henry is locked in the archive for like 10 minutes

-Marie drops off the tape on her way to get Henry

-when she breaks him out, they hear Murphy acting a fool, but Marie tells henry to stick to his current target before going up to the maze.

~1:20 am: Marie calls Virginia because she has the phone and sends Henry on his way (Virginia’s location is also unknown so I just guessed)

~1:35 am: Henry goes to attack Virginia but is scared off by the frat. Immediately books it to Murphy.

~1:40 am: Eugene is attacked (Marie)

-marie, on her way to the graveyard, sees the teens going to the murder house and watches

~1:53 am: Murphy is attacked (Henry)

-Marie sees the prank unfolding and slips into the group

~2:15 am: the teens are attacked (Marie)

-Marie spends a few minutes at the graveyard visiting George and recovering from getting a bookshelf tipped over on top of her

~2:32 am: Forrest spots the whistling man outside KFAM when going to retrieve LRH (Henry)

~2:43 am: Marie and Henry meet outside the gas station to regroup (optional? Idk)

~2:45 am: the bomb is detonated (Marie)

-Henry goes back to KFAM to hang out outside as the last victims are personal to his mother.

~3:10 am: Ricky is attacked (Marie)

~3:18 am: Jason is stabbed in the woods (Marie)

~3:25 am: Casey calls KFAM now inside her house

-Marie kidnaps Teddy on her way to the school gym

~3:45 am: Henry enters KFAM and locks Forrest in the producer booth

~3:46 am: Interview with Teddy begins (Marie)

~3:58 am: Peggy confronts Marie

Was anyone else banking on a call coming in screaming for help, no choice given how to respond at first because Forrest takes it away with, "DAMMIT Ponty!! I already told you to knock it off with the ads! Peggy, hang up on him."

"Wait, Forrest, I don't think this is a bit." And she's right; Brian Ponty is fighting for his life as they speak. Forrest has to help him navigate avoiding a Whistling Man who seems to have the ghostly ability to teleport, and it ends with a grand finish where Forrest & Peggy hear glass shattering, Ponty shouting, and they can't tell if he was able to make it out alright or not.

"Do you think he made it?"

I'm sure he did. / We tried our best. / Good riddance.

At the end of the night, Forrest is able to confront Marie. "What the hell made you go after Ponty?"

Something to do with George? / Awful promotions?

It turns out that Marie and Henry just got frustrated enough by Forrest & Peggy saving people and being an obstacle that they decided to gun for Ponty to blow off some steam, and "We were passing by, anyway."

"You were passing by?"

"Well, and it's what you asked for!"

Like hell I did! / I guess I did. / Thank you!

"And? Did he get away?"

"Not important."

I really love how they've made her quite short- I find when she stands along side the others, she's quite short and I dunno why but its lovely to see that even the short ones can be badass too..

It's quite lovely seeing how the series kids grow up with these days getting to see more badass female characters that can inspire them.

What I love about her character, from what I've read of her profile is if she notices the team getting a little 'flabby' (as they describe) she be the one to whip em' into shape (this just sounds like a great little comic doodle idea)

Anyway, I think she's a lovely character, and looks fabulous in my semi realistic/comic book style..

"Well we can hope that." Jim commented after he ran a gloved hand over one of his big, furry ears. Clearly frustrated over what was going on with the twins even if he didn't say it out loud. Like, shit, the twins had enough going on in their lives as it was, so they didn't need a bastard like Hagglesetz to come and ruin what they were trying to build after being released from jail. "Anyway, I better get going now. If this is as serious as I suspect it to be, then I got a lot of digging to do. And... maybe a few favors to ask. But before that..."

Cue the dramatic pause. The officer raised one of his hands again to point a finger at Neftin, his features hardening as he turned his head to look up at the Nether that easily towered over him, too.

"Don't do anything stupid while I'm gone. I know you made a promise to not bring any harm to Sergio, but still... watch it. Okay?" Another pause, this time to wait for an answer. A simple yes could have worked fin but, being as stubborn as he was, the giant refused to make eye contact with him. Almost as if he was... scared? "Neeeef..."

The officer's voice took on a different tone this time, one that he usually only used on his own brother. And while he didn't hold much hope for it, it somehow seemed to do the job for him, much to Vendra's surprise. The smaller Nether could see her brother tense up and lower his ponty ears before he slowly turned his head to look back down at Jim. Then, barely above a whisper, she heard the giant mumble "I'll... behave..." before falling silent again.

"Good. Then I can make my leave. I, uh, see you guys tomorrow then." Satisfied with the reply he got, the officer waved them all goodbye before he then turned around to leave the same way he came. There wasn't much left to do at the twins' place so he would leave them all do to whatever they wanted now.

"Go back to the Netherverse, Progs!" called a voice outside the twins' apartment. A brick crashed through a window before the sound of a cruiser speeding away started to fade in the distance.

Aaaaand that was yet another perfect window for them. Great, just... wonderful. People were really getting bolder by the day. They’ve had so many doing it already that Vendra and her brother barely reacted to it anymore. Honestly, they were just annoyed at this point, and felt the need to go after the perpetrators grow stronger.

“Looks like we’re gonna have to make some calls...” Snorting loudly for herself, Vendra decided to put down the cup she had been drinking tea from on the coffee table in front of her so she could grab one of the other items that was resting on it, her comm-unit. It was time to call her tabby friend she knew and ask him if he come around to help them here.

Because of how often people came around to throw bricks, the twins had created a routine where one of them would go ahead and call Jim to report the incident while the other one would call someone to help them with the window.

And it was pretty obvious who was in charge of what here. The small Nether waited for Sergio to pick while mummering, “Come one... pick up...”

Blood on the Risers — This is very much a vode song. Some enterprising space reporter films them singing it (some of the men are laughing—some are crying) and manages to slip it past Palpatine's careful media censoring. Opens up a lot of curiosity about clone music, and culture, and oh these are people, not meat droids. Palpatine reluctantly allows the clone rights bill through, the wave of public opinion too strong to do anything else. He figures it hardly matters, once the chips are activated he'll own them anyway. He fails to consider that the very slight improved access to health care (very slight—the right to health care doesn't mean the republic has the funds to PROVIDE it) would eventually uncover a secret—what sort of hospital does that deep a brain scan for a concussion?

16. What are your writing strengths? Editing. Knowing when a scene is unnecessary and needs to be cut, and what's missing from a chapter. It's hard but you have to be ruthless! Home to Roost has so many cut scenes it's unreal.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? A lack of confidence. It doesn't help that I pair Alex with my female farmer, which isn't popular, or I write rarepairs. I second guess myself, think I'm no good all the time. After all, I'm not clever, I'm a girl that likes sports and fashion and I only started writing in 2023. I don't think I'm cut out for it, and I make a better beta anyway.

18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language? Oh god. Rook Hunt, I love you but peppering your speech with French is not a joy to write. I also headcanon that he isn't really French, probably to excuse my rusty, poor French. I'm fine reading it though!

I did once get an immense amount of hate from leaving an "I liked this" comment, so uh, fair warning to SDV fic fans: the author of "Hive" is completely fucking insane.

do you write smut? I can't :/ Even when I've been like "ok I think smut needs to happen here, maybe" I can't seem to do it. Maybe someday I'll get the courage, but I feel SO awkward and cringe about anything sex-related, I just panic and fade to black every time.

favorite fic you've written? Have You Seen My Love?, which hilariously only has 1 kudos right now. It's a group chat with Ben's polycule, worrying about him when he goes to the mines and isn't responding to their texts or calls. It was SO fun to write and it still makes me laugh when I re-read it.

Oh, not my area of expertise at all, and I'm not a philosopher, and I've already chosen a lane in the aesthetics department, so... that's going to be very limited. I can give you a few things I enjoyed or found interesting, but don't make that your only bibliography.

Anyway, I'd say look into Hegel's Lectures on Aesthetics, and, hm, Heidegger wrote so much about this, but this encyclopedia article should be a good introduction to his main ideas. I have a soft spot for his study of Hölderlin—in English, Elucidations on Hölderlin's Poetry. I mention these because knowing about Heidegger might help you or nuance your reading if you check out Merleau-Ponty's LOVELY works, especially Phenomenology of Perception and Eye and Mind. And then, more accessible, Umberto Eco's On Beauty / On Ugliness, and Maggie Nelson's The Art of Cruelty.

We should start calling Palpatine You-know-who so the human cockroach gets confused with Voldemort and finally dies in all ways that matter.

First, let me say, so true bestie. Palpatine needs to die and die completely and badly. You know my feelings on this—I wrote him being killed outside of time in LT just to make sure his consciousness got completely crushed into oblivion.

Second, let me derail slightly so that I can talk about one of my favorite books that I own: Ontological Humility: Lord Voldemort and the philosophers by Nancy Holland.

From the back cover:

Neither self-effacing modesty nor religious meekness, ontological humility is a moral and philosophical attitude toward transcendence—the unknown and unknowable background of existence—and a recognition and awareness of the contingency and chance that influence the course of our lives. It is a concept that Nancy J. Holland finds both throughout the history of philosophy and across the volumes of J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. Tracing it through the philosophical thought of figures ranging from Descartes, Hume, and Kant to Heidegger, Beauvoir, Merleau-Ponty, and Derrida, Holland uses the Harry Potter saga as a guide to illustrate the concept, revealing a whole set of ethical imperatives. Connecting the concept to contemporary gender and race theory, she demonstrates its implications both for our understanding of the philosophical tradition and for the way we live our lives.

Fucking amazing, right? I vividly remember finding this at a used bookstore. The title Ontological Humility caught me, and when I saw the subtitle I think I ascended to a new plane of reality. I adore it when pop culture is taken way too seriously, adore it. Despite all the current issues around Rowling, it’s very much Holland’s book/interpretation/analysis and is worth reading.

The thesis is essentially that it is the ultimate form of arrogance to believe one can conquer death, and that arrogance is tied to racism. Magic is something “given” in the Harry Potter universe, and Holland argues that Harry and Dumbledore are humble before it and recognize its limits, instead of taking the gift as something deserved. Voldemort and the Death Eaters are certain they deserve this power and that those who lack it are inferior. Harry is humble, willing to die and relinquish the gift, and Voldemort is arrogant, unwilling to die and feels entitled to the gift.

Holland draws the parallel to privilege, to those who life has “given” much, and think that they deserve it because of some inherent or achieved virtue of their own, rather than accept that chance or fate is responsible. The ethical imperative is to be humble and understand that the world is shaped by forces we cannot control or completely understand. Instead of being like Voldemort and seeking more power and feeling entitled to superiority because of the gift, we must recognize its transcendent and passing nature.

Basically, we must not seek to dominate those who do not have privilege, but rather be prepared to renounce it as something unearned. We all die, basically, and the ethical imperative is to be humble before that fact and generous in our unknowing of why and how.

Anyway, to pivot back to Star Wars, Palpatine seeking domination over all life, trying to wield power not fit for mortals to endure outside his lifespan, is all a dramatization of his incredible arrogance. I don’t even want to get into Anakin’s relationship with death lol. The Jedi generally are humble, and it is their humility that makes them strong. Each individual Jedi isn’t seeking to dominate with their privilege of Force sensitivity. They are much better ethical examples than the Sith.

i am really really pleased that my meeting w my independent study professor went so well yesterday. im still kind of astonished that she seemed pleased with my work?? i thought it was stinky doo-doo quality work because i did it in like 48 hours and i only read like 1/3 of what i wanted to in the 3 weeks since we last met. im so so so glad she liked what i had.

i made a passing joke about my adhd* and she said “just because you think all over the place doesn’t mean you have adhd, it is often misdiagnosed! :) keep talking!”

*(my independent study is on metaphysics and ive tasked myself with reading all but like 5 chapters of merleau-ponty’s phenomenology of perception, and the third chapter of the introduction is called “attention and judgement,” which was ironically the one i was having the absolute hardest time paying attention to, because... just because. haha, adhd irony)

i am 150% certain that she had zero ill intent; i expect that she was doing that in the way that well-meaning thin people say “you’re not fat - you’re fluffy :)” which, cute, sure, but “fat” and “adhd” aren’t concepts that should be treated as like.... ?? “don’t be down on yourself, you’re still cute/smart! :)” ???? theres a word for this phenomenon but i can’t think of it atm but yanno what i mean???? it’s like ,, yes, i am fat, and i am cute, and yes, i am adhd, and i am smart. like this attitude of trying to soften the harsh connotation of the words before considering that they are not (and should not be treated as) inherently bad things in themselves???? fucking shrug emoji i hope youre getting what i mean here lol

it was just one of those very “pick your battles” moments* where instead of going “actually, i have been taking medication for it for years, which - when not in my possession - has a markedly noticeable effect on my performance not just academically but also in things like taking care of my body and not unthinkingly wandering into dangerous situations etc etc” i just. “okay, anyway, [something something metaphysics something]”

*(i only had 45 minutes and wound up talking myself into understanding that difficult chapter as i explained to her all my connections with the other chapters and reframing my questions a few times. i didnt have time to talk about everything i did, either! i did end up doing so much work and i am in fact pretty proud of myself now! it’s just that the adhd comment will need to be revisited at a later moment when there is time to actually talk about it)

Tbh, I kinda did felt like the name "Jack Cheese" was bit too on the nose (ig?) and was considering some other parody names (i.e i was thinking about the alternative name "Jack Jeleese", with the joke being that Jack's original family name was changed from "Wibble-Wobble-Jelly-Welly" to "Jeleese" because Jack's dad wasn't happy with the original name....simply for the fact that he wasn't a huge fan of jelly lol). But tbh, after a while, I've since warmed up to the name "Cheese" as a surname. Actually, I'm thinking of incorporating the og Jelly surname into the new Cheese surname. I'm thinking that Jack's og family surname was "Jeleese", but was changed to "Cheese" because his dad thought "Jeleese" was too icky since he, according to Jack in the PM universe, "wasn't a fan of jelly or jelly-like substances because it's too slimy and wobbly and that it's messy as well. He's more of a cheese lover, so he legally changed it to "Cheese" "....also it was something to do with Jack's dad's repressed trauma of seeing his parents literally being eaten by the alien blancmanges when he was a child, and now has a gag reflex whenever he hears or says the word "jelly".

Ben/Raymond/Graham - yes I deffo agree with you, Ben Willbond truly is the new Graham Chapman lol (I mean, is it really not that surprising that Ben and Graham were born literally 10 days from each other in January? Like, Graham was born on the 8th Jan. , Ben was born on the 18th Jan. , like IT CAN'T JUST BE A COINCIDENCE RIGHT? RIGHT??) . Ok uhh, all joking aside, i do see similarities between 2 particular characters played by both Ben and Graham respectively. That being The Captain (played by Ben Willbond) from BBC Ghosts and The Colonel (played by Graham Chapman) from MPFC. For instance, both Cap and Colonel share alot of similarities with each other, 1 being that both characters have a sorta "no-silliness" attitude to them, and 2 being that Cap and to some (lesser) extent the Colonel (but mainly Gray himself) are absolute 🏳️‍🌈✨ gay/queer icons 🏳️‍🌈✨, though it's probably my lil headcannon that, well, headcannons that Colonel is a bit gay-coded (even if he has a wife but it's probably a more platonic marriage rather than romantic imo, but hey that's just me ig).

Also yes, Ben Willbond is quite attractive. In fact, I'm attracted to both Ben and Gray from both groups. Also also, if Graham was still alive in his 80s in another universe, I think it would be kinda cool and epic if he and Ben played a father-and-son duo in a comedy/comedy-drama kinda thing. Like, it'd be very cool to see imo.

Anyway anyway, uhh getting sidetracked again, uhh I chose "Raymond Manchap" as a name as: 1) the name Raymond kinda sounds similar to the name Graham, so it was kinda fitting in a way. 2) I chose the name "Manchap" by uhh simply swapping "Chap" and "man" around in "Chapman", almost in reverse kinda, and also the lil joke is that "Manchap" is pronounced as "Mun-chap" since "Chapman" is pronounced like "Chap-mun", like any other name that has "-man" at the end almost always being pronounced as "-mun" lol, so there's a bit of funny playful subversion in there a bit, like if you swap the words around and you had the "-man"-pronounced-like-"-mun" at the beginning of the surname, ya'know? However, in all honesty, I literally didn't think about your analysis on the extra layers of the joke (such as Gay Gray being the absolute sexy man for chaps) being that I fr didn't about the first time around lol. So uhh thank you!!

Mathew/Derek/Eric - I remember in your comments from an earlier Ponty Mylon post that you mentioned that the name "Theidol"/"Idol" is more fitting that the name "Idle" since, as you mentioned in said comments, Eric seems more comfortable on his celebrity side that the other Pythons, which does make alot of sense imho! Also cuz, Mathew Baynton is kinda like Eric Idle due to both of them being the more musical of each troupes, what with both of them (Mat and Eric) being musicians themselves! Also cuz like, both Mat and Eric are kinda considered the "heartthrobs" of each group (though I think Eric is tied with Michael for being the "adorable heartthrobs" of the Pythons imo, ya'know)
